“I have been working with Steve for two years now and it has been a wonderful experience. He helped me work through the process of deciding the direction of my current home building project and then helped me design and build a beautiful and functional barn. Now we are in the last few months of my custom home project. Along the way he has helped with other small restoration projects on my property.

Steve is a great collaborator, leading or standing back as needed.  He has a fine eye for design and balance and quality. After repeated frustration in attempting to work with some architects and ‘designers,’ I asked Steve if we could just design it ourselves. He took it on gladly. The results have been fantastic.

He has a poet's heart and it comes through in his very thoughtful attention to details, in who he brings on to the job site, in the quality of materials, and in soulfulness, as it all affects the character and energy of the creation which will hold and protect us.

If I had to choose just a few virtues to express my appreciation and review of Steve as a builder I would say integrity (he has it in droves), sense of humor (it is vital in a big project), and truly caring that the final project pleases the owner. If you just want to ‘get it done quick’ without much input or thought, don't call Steve. That is not how he operates.”

“We love the space that we worked on with Steve. He was really great at paying attention to the details, such as a soffit that goes around the ceiling, and he created extra storage space. He put his heart into creating a beautiful space that was fully cohesive.

I love that Steve repurposed some of the materials from the old barn to make gorgeous posts for the entry leading into the studio, and metalwork for the vents that let air under the building. The iron angle corner work really adds to the aesthetic of the space. The light is wonderful for an artist. It’s a beautiful space and I get to be there almost every day.”
